If you know nothing about the process of whisky making or simply enjoy these fine beverages then this is the event for you! Opal's goes to great lengths to not only bring top of the line drinks to their customers, but also educate them on how these drinks are made and the proper way to enjoy such delectable offerings. Michael Parker, owner of Opal's, has traveled Scotland making connections with several different distilleries and reps from all walks of life, ensuring that he knows where his products come from and how they are made. Spending time getting to know the products he serves sets Opal's and their staff apart from the typical bars and boring drinks out there. And whisky just happens to be one of Michael's favorites, so you can rest assured the 2009 Whisky Festival will be a night to enjoy!
This event will take place Thursday, December 3rd from 7 to 10pm at Opal Divine's Penn Field, 3601 South Congress in South Austin. Tickets are $45 on the day of the event, and all proceeds will benefit Meals on Wheels. We'll be serving samples of whisky followed by hors d'oeuvres, Scottish style salmon, smoked meats, fruits and cheeses. See you there!
